Steel box buckle

This unique piece is an old pattern which is not seen often today….. certainly not in most “western wear” stores. 
 I made this from one single piece of 14 ga steel, forming and shaping using mostly long forgotten methods of fabrication.  The longhorn is solid sterling and was made using the sand casting method. Copper scrolls adorn the top and bottom and the buckle is engraving in a very nice western bright cut design. Lastly this buckle has been finished using hot caustic salts for a very nice color and look . This is a classic piece you won’t find just anywhere
